McMains - Sarah Ware - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Mrs. Sarah McMains died at Russellville, Thursday, of typhoid fever.  The funeral was held at Mt. Moriah Sunday morning.  She was born in Parke County, October 7, 1839.  She married James McMains, Sept 19, 1859.  With him she lived most happily until his death.  To this union were born 9 children: Emma McKeown; Eva Collings; Lucinda McClain; Samuel who died in infancy; Jesse and Grace McMains. She was the youngest child of William and Susan Ware.  She united with the Christian Church at about 25 years and lived a Christian life, the last several years of which she believed the doctrines of the Old School Baptist Church.  It an be said of her that she was a loving wife, a good and kind mother, willing to bear burdens for her children.  - typed by kbz
