-- Mrs. Mary McMains died at her home last Saturday morning after a long illness. Funeral services w re held in the Christian church on Sunday, conducted by Rev. JC Asley. Mary E. Lee was born in Fleming County, Kentucky Dec 23, 1829. She was married to John McMains May 15, 1854. To them were born two sons and one daughter. The eldest son died Sept 20, 1886. She leaves her husband and two children to mourn for her. She united with the Christian Church when 16 in Ky; under t he preaching of Elder Houn, and lived an earnest, consistent Christian li fe to the day of her death. Her last testimony was, "Children, I have lived the very best life that I could, and now I have no fear of death; I am ready to go," and she fell asleep, after suffering for many years. She bore the ills, suffering and disappointments of this life with Christian Fortitude, and was prepared when the summons came. May her life be an inspiration to her relatives and friends, that they may so live that they may clasp glad hands with her on the other side. - typed by kbz
