James McMains was found dead in his bed at the home of his son, Jesse McMains, near Milligan, Thurs. morning. He went to bed on the previous evening in his usual health. He was subject to attacks of heart weakness and this probably caused his death. Fun. serv. were held at the home on Sat. morning by Rev. Mr. Dodimead, of Marshall. Interment at Mt. Moriah Mr. McMains was the second son of Robert McMains and was b. in Parke Co 1832. His was the second death in a family of 13. With the exception of two years spent in Illinois, he has lived near Milligan all his life. Some 45 years ago he marr. Sarah Ware who lived until April 1905. Since then he has made his home with his son, Jesse. One other son is dead. While not a Church member, he was a man of excellent character and always had a strong leaning to the Primitive Baptist. Among those present at the funeral were David McMains of Hoopeston, Ill; Mrs. Miranda Ellis and Philip McMains of Rossville, Ill; Mr. & Mrs. James Alfrey, Robert McMains and Anderson McMains of Crawfordsville and Mr. & Mrs. Harry McMains and Max.
