Mrs. Mary Ann McClain died at her home So. of Parkeville on
Monday afternoon. She was born in Shelby Co, Ky Jan 2, 184? and
was the daughter of Leman? and Ollah McClain. July 4, 1861, she
marr. Jesse McClain, now dead. She is survived by one son, James
Buchanon McClain, and two daughters, Rena and Nora McClain.
Funeral services on Wed. morning at Mt. Moriah were in charge of
Eldar (sic) Cornelius Airhart assisted by Elder Ray Collings. The
pallbearers were Otis McClain, Harry McClain, James McClain,
William Moore, Frank Moore, and John Gross. The flowers were
carried by Kathryn Moore, Ruby Porter, Mary Hamilton and Cozette
McClain. Mrs. McClain was highly esteemed by her neighbors and

Waveland, July 21 -- Mrs. Mary Ann McCLAIN, 90, one of the oldest and most beloved
residents of Green Twp, expired at her home 5 miles south of here
at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. Infirmities of old age caused
death. The dead woman was born Jan 2, 1840 in Shelby Co, Ky, the
d/o Lemuel and Oilah McClain. On July 4, 1861 she was married to
a man by the same name, Jesse McCLain, who preceded her in death.
She was quite active in social circles about Waveland almost
until her death, despite her age and the illness that overtook
her last May. She was a member of the Christian Church here.
Surviving are one son, JB McClain of Waveland, two daguthers,
Rena and Nora McClain, both living at home and a number of nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Wed.

Airhart of Crawfordsville officiating. Interment will be at mt.
