Crawfordsville, Nov. 11 - Henry McIntosh, town clerk at Waveland, was in an apple tree picking apples, and in stepping about on the limbs missed his foothold and fell to the ground. In falling he struck another limb with such force as to break his neck. At about the same time Homer Dukes, a nephew of McIntosh, while standing on a fence knocking apples with a pole, fell to the ground and broke his neck also. Dukes lived near Colfax.

Saturday Nov 9 - 5.50. Paid 2.35 for a pair of shoes. $1 for 16 yds of c alico for Perla A. Myrtle Petty a dress for each 35 cts for beef 4 l bs 41 for 20 lbs of granulated sugar. After dinner Henry McIntosh was up in an apple tree shaking off apples when he fell to the ground, w as carried home and died in about half hour from the time he fell. He lived on the opposite side of the street from us and a short way east. Eva saw him in the tree but did not see him fall.

Coroner Barcus was summoned to Waveland to render a verdict in the case
of Henry McIntosh who was killed there about noon Saturday. It appears that
Mr. McIntosh was in a tree picking apples and in some way, lost his hold a nd
fell breaking his neck. The deceased was an old soldier and quite prominent citizen of
Waveland, respected by all.
