Doris Barker-McGlothlin, 90 of Lafayette died Wednesday June 21, 2006 at the Mulberry Health and retirement Center. Born Jan 3, 1916 to the late Ernest and Inez Coons Delano in Montgomery County she had lived in Lafayette since 1953. She married David Barker Nov 23, 1932 and he preceded her in death Oct 28, 1975. She married Roy McGlothlin April 12, 1982 and he preceded her Aug 26, 2000. Mrs. Barker-McGlothlin had worked at Duncan Electric for more than 20 years, retiring in 1981. She had previously worked at RR Donnelley in Crawfordsville. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Fisher (Norbert) of lafayette; three sisters, Thelma Cratbree, Annabell Roe and Lola “Sissy” Hockersmith; and three brothers, Albert Delano, Jesse Delano (Dorothy) and Loyal “Buzzy” Delano (Patsy.) Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday June 23, 2006 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral ther 1 p.m. Saturday June 24, Pastor Herb Wingard officiating. Surviving are 6 grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Alberta “Bert” Barker. Preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Phillip Barker; four brothers and one sister. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association. - kbz
