McGILLIARD, George W. - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

In the hospital at Louisville, Ky., on Monday night, December 21st, 1863, Sergent George W. McGilliard, of Company "H" 57th Indiana regiment. The remains of the deceased arrived at home, Whitesville, this county, on Tuesday night's train, in charge of a relative, and were interred the following day. Sergent McGilliard, at the time of his demise, had been in the service of his country about two years, and during that time, had discharged his every duty faithfully and with honor. But he, like many of our patriotic soldiers, after passing through many bloody battles, at last fell a victim to disease. The deceased was a son of Jas. P.
