Florian M. McFeeley was the son of William and Jessie McFeeley. He was born near Veedersburg, Fountain County, Ind., Oct. 19, 1878. He died Sept. 29, 1901. When fifteen years of age he joined the Christian Church at Smartsburg, Ind. In the public school he was a diligent pupil, and while a young boy made up his mind to secure an education. In September, 1900, he became a student of the Crawfordsville Business College. There he showed marked ability as a stenographer, and had he been spared, would undoubtedly have made a success of his chosen profession. By his manly bearing and kindly disposition he gained the affection and respect of his instructors and fellow pupils. It was his intention thoroughly to complete his course at the college this winter. Since the death of his father, his one ambition has been so to educate himself that he should be able to support his widowed mother in comfort. He was on the verge of success when he took the severe cold which brought on the disease that ended his young life, and left his mother to face the world alone. =s
