McDonald - Permelia Swank

Mrs. Permelia McDonald, age 80, a resident of Montgomery County the greater part of her life, died this morning at 8:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Walton, 206 High Street. Paralysis was the cause of her death and she had been ill one year. The funeral services will be held at the daughter's home at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning and the Rev. Cornelius Airhart will have charge. Burial will be at Cayuga cemetery. Mrs. Permelia McDonald was one of the most highly respected citizens of the county and she had a great many friends in this community. She was born near Elmdale, Feb 7, 1843 to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Swank. She married David McDonald Oct 26, 1866 and he preceded her in death. One son, James McDonald and one daughter, Mrs. Joe Walton both of Crawfordsville, one sister, Mrs. Amanda Weazy and two brothers, Preston and Daniel Swank all of Elmdale survive. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive her. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of this city. Three daughters and one son preceded her in death as well as her husband. - kbz
