Attica Ledger -- The death of Paul Duncan McDonald occurred Sunday morning at 6 o'clock at his home in this city. The immediate cause of his death was organic heart disease. Thus twice within a month has death come into the McDonald family, the son following the father, just 3 weeks after the latter's death. Paul McDonald was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. McDonald and was born in this city Sept 23, 1849. He was therefore at the time of his death a little less than 50 years. He was married Jan 25, 1878 to Miss Jennie Green, daughter of Alonzo Green, Sr. She has since died leaving one daughter, Miss Lillie, who is now making her home with her grandaprents. Paul was a graduate of the State University, having completed his course in 1871. In 1882 and 83 he was connected with the Daily Argus of Crawfordsville, acting in the capacity of city editor. Since severing his connection with the Argus, he has been a resident of this city and has at one time and another been connected with several of the local newspapers, doing reportorial work for the Ledger, Democrat and News. He was generally liked. Everybody familiarly called him Paul. He will be missed by the people of Attica and there will be genuine regret because of his death. - kbz
