Mrs. Idalee Pearl McDaniel, 76, Darlington, injured in an automobile accident southeast of Crawfordsville last Thursday afternoon died Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Culver Hospital where she had been a patience since the wreck. Mrs. Molly Mason, 61, RFD 5, Crawfordsville, sister-in-law of Mrs. McDaniel who was also injured in the accident was reported in good condition at the hospital Sunday. A native of Montgomery County, Mrs. McDaniel was born May 3, 1875, the daughter of Johnson and Pearl McGlothlin (sic) McCormick. In 1902 she was married to William Alfred McDaniel, who survives, Mr. McDaniel was slightly injured in the wreck. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mable F. Hill, Frankfort and Mrs. Collin Harland, New Ross; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Darlington. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rev. Richard Chamness was in charge of the service. Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel and Mrs. Mason, three of seven person riding in a car driven by Joseph R. Hill, Frankfort, were trapped inside for about 15 minutes when Hill's car was in a collision with one driven by Charles Clarence Hummel, 47, RFD 2, Crawfordsville who was alone. The accident occurred at the intersection of two gravel roads by the old Mt. Tabor School east off the Ladoga Road. None of the other persons was injufred seriously. Mrs. McDaniel suffered several broken ribs, cuts over her right eye and on her left hand and other cuts and bruises in the crash. Mrs. Mason suffered possible fractures of the collar bone and pelvis. The persons in the Hill car had been visiting Mrs. Harland in New Ross and were taking Mrs. Mason home when the accident occurred. Other occupatns of the Hill car were Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Mason's daughter and granddaughter, Mrs. Helen Hart and daughter Betty of Ladoga.
