Hal H. McDaniel died at the City Hospital, Indianapolis, last Tuesday of cancer. He was only recently taken to the city in the vain hope that he might recover. He was a brother to policeman Joseph McDaniel and was for a time street commissioner of this city. For several years he has been in poor health and in the last few months a cancer developed. He leaves a family. Born and raised in this community he had many friends. The best tribute that can be said for him is that he was a good citizen and an honest industrious man. Henry H. McDaniel, of this city, died last Tuesday at 6 o'clock in the hospital at Indianapolis from cancer. Mr. McDaniel was taken to Indianapolis about two weeks ago for treatment but got no relief. The body was brought to this city Tuesday evening on the 5:45 Big Four train for burial. The funeral occurred from the home on east college street Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Henry H. McDaniel was born within two miles of this city about sixty-one years ago and has lived here all his life. He leaves a wife and two daughters, Gertrude McDaniel and Mrs. Chas. W Buck. Mr. McDaniel was quite well known over the county and was a gentleman highly respected. He had been in poor health for some time and his death was not unexpected. He leaves a brother in this city, Joseph McDaniel. - transcribed by Kim H
