George Clyde McDaniel, 91 of 719 S. 21st St., Lafayette, a former resident of Crawfordsville, died Saturday in Lafayette. He was associated with McDaniel Freight Line here 1945-51. He retired from the firm in Lafayette in 1960. He also was an employee of Boswell Bank and Boswell Hardware, and was mayor of that community in the mid-1920s. Mr. McDaniel was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church at Lafayette, Tippecanoe Traffic Club and Elks Lodge. He was a former member of F & AM. Surviving are his wife, the former Hazel Dazy; five daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Geraldine) Alkaire of Hoopeston, Ill., Mrs. Harold E. (Eileen) Fay of Pine Village, Mrs. Earl (Jean) Stoner of Fowler, Mrs. Clifford (Geneva) Cooper of Rossville and Mrs. George (Nondas) Daigger of Lafayette; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The funeral was today in Lafayette. Burial was in Boswell Cemetery. - jlr
