Wm. Morris McCulloch, 94, died 12:53 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. Mr. McCulloch worked for the US Forrestry Svc and Dav ey Tree Co from 1932-1944. He conducted private contracting at WIngate from 1944-2000 and drove a school bus for Coal Creek and North Montgomery HS from 1954-64, HGe was a certified waste water treatment manager for WIngate until 2001. His memberships include Mercer Masonic Lodge 633 where he was a 50-year member and Past Master three times; Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis; Indianapolis and Montgomery County Shrine clubs; New Richmond and Crawfordsville Masonic lodges where he was an honorary member; Coal Creek Townshp where he was precinct committeeman; Wingate Town Board where he was president and he was the Oldest Town Board President in the state of Indiana.
He was a Dayton HS graduate, Dayton, Ind and attended North Eastern College, Tahlequah, Okla for one year where he was a Sigma Tau Gama fraternity member. He also attended Purdue for three years.
He was born Oct 11, 1910 at Dayton, Ind to William and Ida Mae Godfrey McCulloch. He married Naomi L. Foster Aug 4, 1935 at Crawfordsville. She died March 10, 2004. Survivors include daughter, C. Kay (Tom) Alward, Frankfort; two grandchildren and one great grandson. A brother, Charles and sisters Marie Brand, Caroline Crider and Wilma Rodriquez are deceased.
A memorial service is scheduled 4 p.m. with Masonic services beginning at 4:30 p.m Saturday in New Hope Chapel, Wingate with the Rev. Al WHite officiating. Cremation of the body will follow with a private burial at a later date. Friends may call 1-4 pm. Saturday in the church. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
