Waynetown - Della McCracken, 86, of Waynetown died at 7:21 p.m. Sunday in Lane House Nursing Care Home at Crawfordsville. She worked as a cook in the Waynetown Restaurant until retiring in 1975 and had been a resident of Waynetown about 60 years. She was a member of Waynetown Christian Church where she was active in the Baracca Philaichia Class and the Ladies Aid. She also was a member and Past Noble Grand of Waynetown Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs. McCracken was born Aug 3, 1896 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, a daughter of Samuel and Rebecca Harrington Bishop. She was married to Edgar McCracken who preceded her in death in 1940, Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Raymond (Sylvia) Katter and Mrs. Walter (Goldie) Pendleton both of Lafayette and Mrs. Kenneth (Violet) Hudson and Mrs. Burrell (Charlotte Rosenbaum, both of Waynetown; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A son and two brothers preceded her in death.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Tim Stanwood officiating. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Waynetown Christian Church through the funeral home. - kbz
