Miss Nancy A. McCormick died at her home on E. Main St on Tuesday morning after being sick about two weeks with pneumonia. The funeral at the Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon was conducted by Rev. WF Gibson. Interment at Maple Ridge. There were many beautiful flower offerings. Miss McCormick was born at the Hold homestead north of town Nov 20 1854. She united with the Presbyterian Church in the spring 1878 under the ministry of Rev JW Torrence. She was an earnest Christian and a faithful worker, especially in the Sunday School. For many years she and sister Emma have made their home together in Waveland. She was liked by everyone. She is best described by the term "gentlewoman." Her life's journey was not marked by dates but by the white milestones of unselfish deeds.
