Merle H. McCormick, 71, of 50 Hughes St died a tnoon Saturday in his home after an extended illness. Mr. McCormick was a farmer and retired carpenter. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Modern Woodmen. Born June 19, 1906, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Harry and Molly Hunt McCormick. He was married to Golda Miles Nov 24, 1928. She died June 25, 1977. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Molly Hunt Mason of the Ben Hur Home; two brothers, Orville of Ft. Worth, Tx and Clarence of California; and a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Helen) Hart of Covington. The father and a brother are deceased. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Powers Funeral Home with Rev. James Ranard officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.
