Waynetown Dec 11 - Believed despondent over ill health, James Clyde McCormick well known farmer, committed suicide at his home 4 1/2 miles south of Wayntown by taking carbolic acid late Thursday afternoon. Mr. McCormick who had been in ill health 5 months went to the barn about 3 in the afternoon. When he had not returned at 4:30 members of the family became alarmed and went to look for him. He was found in a dying condition and Dr. Faulkner of Waynetown was called. He could do nothing to save the man's life and he died at 5:30. James Clyde McCormick was born June 16, 1888 near Waynetown, son of James and Rebecca Wert McCormick. He married Oct 10, 1906 to Carrie Isa Michael. He was a member of th Ridge Farm Christian Church of the Masonic Lodge at Alamo and Eastern Star at Waynetown. All of his life was spent on his farm 4 1/2 miles south of Waynetown. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Hubert, James and Russell at home; one daughter, Mrs. Herman Foxworthy of Hillsboro; two granddaughters; two brothers, Robert of Alamo and Herbert of Ladoga and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Fink of Alamo; Mrs. Ora Pickett of Crawfordsville and Ms. Bernie Beam of New Maysville, Ind. Funeral services will be at the home Sunday at 1:30 in charge of Rev. Henry Ashley of Lebanon. Burial in Masonic Cemetery Waynetown. - kbz
