Howard N. McCormick, 60 years old, an employee of the Indiana Gas & Water Co. for the last 29 years, died Friday afternoon at 2:10 o'clock at his home, 704 E. College Ave. He had been ill two years. A native of Montgomery County, Mr. McCormick was born Dec 10, 1890, the son of Newton and Florence Beamon Mccormick. On May 22, 1915 he married Hazel Hudson who survives. Mr. McCormick attended the Crawfordsville schools. Except for four years in St. Louis, he had spent all his married life here. Since his return to Crawfordsville in 1921, he had been employed by the Indiana Gas & Water Co. The McCormicks have lived at the College Ave. address for the last 28 years. Mr. McCormick was a member of the Eagles lodge. Survivors in addition to the widow, include a son, Clayton McCormick of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Charles McIntire of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Don Pace of New Albany; six sisters, Mrs. John McCarthy of Crawfordsville; Mrs. James McDonald of Chicago; Mrs. Jasper McGuirk of Chicago; Mrs. James Whalen of Oak Forest IL; Mrs. Grace Grimes of Fresno, Calif; and Mrs. William Plunkett of Kenosha, Wis; a brother, Ralph McCormick of Washington, DC; 7 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bright Funeral Home by Father JC Keating, past of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
