Herbert (Bert) I McCormick, 87 former Ripley Township Assessor died early Saturday morning at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient 5 days. He had lived in Crawfordsville for 13 years since his retirement from farming. A Montgomery County native Mr. McCormick was born Aug 7, 1879 to James and Rebecca Wert McCormick. He was married to Emma Stonebraker Dec 8, 1898. She preceded him in death in 1932. Survivors include 3 sons, Roy and Barton of Crawfordsville and Harold of Waynetown; 4 daughters, Mrs. Ruth Largent with whom he had lived here, Mrs. Ruby Myers of Jackson, Mich; Mrs. Lois McKinsey of Ladoga and Mrs. Eleanor Addler of Chicago; 21 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren 26 great great grandchildren. Three brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. Funeral servides will be held Monday 2 p.m. at the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services for Herbert I. (Bert) McCormick were held Monday afternoon at the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. John R. Servies officiated and Curtis E. Bright was organist. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Alfred Myers of Lansing, Mich.; Eugene McCormick, Indianapolis; David Addler, Chicago, and Robert McCormick, Gerald Newkirk and Charles McKinsey Jr. of Crawfordsville. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Mr. McCormick died Saturday at Culver Hospital. - jlr
