Harold E. McCormick, 84, a former resident of 316 Fairlane Drive died at 11:55 a.m. Monday in the Williamsburg Health Care Center. He had resided there since April. He had been a farmer retiring in 1978. His farm was southeast of Waynetown. His memberships included the Waynetown Baptist Church and the Montgomery and Fountain County Historical societies. He graduated from Alamo HS in 1922. Mr. McCormick was born June 12, 1904, near Alamo to Herbert and Emma Stonebraker McCormick. He married Ruth Clodfelder of Alamo on March 5, 1924. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Dr. Francis Eugene McCormick of Speedway, Ind and Dr. Roy L. McCormick of Muncie; a brother, Barton of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Leo "Bill" (Ruth) Largent and Mrs. Eleanor Addler, both of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Charles (Lois) McKinsey of Ladoga; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother and a sister are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today.
This man was a wonderful research, fellow and just overall awesome. He and Ruth helped me a lot when I first began my quest in the world of history !
