Funeral services for Jackson McCormack, 81, Civil War veteran whose death occurred Monday afternoon will be held at the Hunt & Ratcliff Funeral Home on North Grant Avenue Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. JH Wilson, assisted by Rev Guy O. Carpenter will have charge of the services. The deceased was born in Henry County, Indiana Nov 26, 1843, the son of Joel and Mahala McCormack. On May 16, 1872, he was married to Mary C. McMaken, who died in 1911. He later was married to Della J. Stoner who survives. The aged man had been seriously ill at his home, 213 East Wabash Avenue since April 1929 and had been in failing health for some time previous to that. Mr. McCormack was for many years a prominent and active farmer. He was an organizer of the Montgomery County Fair and was a director of that organization for years. He was superintendent of the sheep division at the fair for several years. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star. The deceased belonged to the Presbyterian Church. The survivors include the widow: two nephews, Maurice McMaken and Clint McCormack of this city and a number of other relatives. Mrs. Mary Harlan of Vire Beach, Cal and Mrs. Oliver S. Watson of this city were reared by Mr. McCormack and he regarded them as daughters.

Jackson McCormack, 81, a Civil War Veteran passed away at his home, 213 E. Wabash Avenue, Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Mr. McCormack was a life long resident of Ripley Township and one of its most posperous farmers. After retiring from active farming he moved to this city in 1912, where he has lived since. For the past few years he and his wife have spent their winters in Florida where he owned a beautiful home on Miami Beach. His last illness has covered several months but up to this illness he had been a very active man for one so far along in years. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
