Mart A. McCord, 85, ormerly of 614 E. Jefferson St, died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday in Regency Place at Lafayette. He retired after 30 years of farming in the Waynetown area. He was a veteran of WWII. He was born Nov 27, 1905 in Cales (Coles?) County, Ill to Ira and Elizabeth McCord. On July 21, 1948 he married Edith Kemper at Charleston, Ill.  She died in June 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Partridge of Santa Ana, Calif and Mrs. John (Shirley) Stoner of Beech Grove, Tenn; two brothers, Joe os Covington and Ralph of Charleston; two sisters, Grace Osburn of Oakland, Ill and Doris Peters of California; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  A daughter, Melba Ward died in December 1990.

Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Mike Manning officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
