McCollum – At Brown’s Valley, July 22, 1882, Kiotah, daughter of James T. and Elizabeth McCollum, aged 4 years 6 months and 21 days. After an illness of 21 days she closed her eyes in death, crossed over on the other side through the gates into the Beautiful Land and is now basking in the smiles of the blessed Savior who said, “suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”  Poem: O, strive to prepare for that happy clime; And when you are called from the shores of time; Your feet to press the celestial sod; You’ll go home to your Kiotah, your Savior and God.  Ah! Earth has too much of sorrow and pain – Bid me not to its shores again. - kz
