Darlington March 14 - Mrs. John McGRAFFE died at her home northeast of here Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Her death was due to tuberculosis. Mrs. McGraffe had just moved to her new home Monday and had been there less than an hour when she died. She formerly lived about 3 miles north of Darlington.

Lucinda Frances Wilson McGRATH was born in Clinton County, Indiana March 24, 1881. She was united in marriage with John McGrath in September 1897. To this union two children were born, Floyd age 14 living and Walter who preceded his mother to the land beyond. In early life she united with the Christian Church at Linden. She is survived by the husband, one son, mother, two sisters and two brothers. One son, father, four sisters and two brothers, having preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the home near Clarks Hill March 15, conducted by Rev. Father Connaly of Lebanon. Burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery

Mrs. John McGraff, 37 years old, died Monday afternoon at 3 at the home in the north west corner of Sguar Creek Township where she and her family were just moving. Her death occurred less than an hour after she had arrived at their new home. Mrs. McGraffe (sic) had been ill for some time with tuberculosis. She is survived by her husband and one son, 12 years old. Short funeral services will be held from the home, Wednesday morning and the body will be taken to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery south of Linden for burial. The McGraffe family had started to move from their home three miles north of Darlington Saturday and Monday afternoon Mrs. McGraffe was taken tot he new home by Dr. Peacock in his auto. She was able to walk into the house where she lay down, saving she was slightly tired. Soon she suffered hemorrhages and died almost instantly. File Created: 2007-Feb-14
