Jeff McDONALD died at his home on W. Wabash Ave, yesterday morning at 2:30. Mr. McDonald who was one of the best known citizens of Crawfordsville had been an invalid since he suffered a stroke of paralysis over 5 years ago. For the last 7 weeks his condition has been bad and his death was not unexpected. Mr. McDonald came to this city about 30 years ago and 8 years later became a member of the firm of McDonald & Steele one of the leding florists of the city. At the time that he first settled in Crawfordsville he was a commercial traveler, selling drugs for the Daniel Stewart Co. of Indianapolis. He continued in the employ of this company for 27 years giving up his position with them 5 years ago when he first suffered the stroke of paralysis. Mr. McDonald was 57 and was born in Illinois. He came to this city when a young man and has been one of its best known residents ever since. The deceased had been an active member of the Elks, Odd Fellows and Red Men for many years. Besides his widow, Mr. McDonald is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Daniel Casey of Lafayette and Mrs. Bert Wilson of Portland Ore; two sons, Ralph and Harry of Indianapolis and one sister, Mrs. DD Riddle of Colorado. The funeral will be from the home Friday afternoon at 2:30 and services will be conducted by Rev John M . Alexander of South Bend assisted by Rev RE Moss of this city. - typed by kbz
