NOTE: In the following obit, the writer mistakenly calls Mrs.
McCormick by her daughter's name, Mrs. Stephens, in part of the
obituary. Also, the residence of her son, James, was Danville, IN
not Danville, Illinois.

Woman Nearing Century Mark is Victim of Paralysis at
Daughter's Home. Mrs. Jane McCormick, 91 years of age, died at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Stephens, 400 west Market
street, Wednesday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock. Her death followed a
stroke of paralysis, suffered on Sunday. Mrs. McCormick had been
an invalid for several months, having been confined to her bed
since last May. She was born near this city on October 20, 1835,
the daughter of John and Elizabeth McLaughlin, who were natives
of Ohio. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Mace Christian Church.
Until the condition of her health prevented it Mrs. Stephens was
a regular attendant at the First Christian Church here. Her
husband has been dead for many years. Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Alice Stephens, with whom she was living and Mrs.
Pearl McDaniel, of near Darlington, and one son, James McCormick,
of near Danville, Illinois. The time of the funeral has not been
set. Services will be held at the Christian Church with burial at
the Masonic Cemetery.
