Walter A. McClure, 59, of 707 Wayne Ave., died suddenly at 3:40 p.m. Sunday while working on a citizen band tower at the home of Robert Rosenbaum near Waynetown. Mr. McClure had been a cable splicer for Indiana Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years. He had resided here since 1964. He was a member of the Oak Hill Tabernacle Church, Alamo Masonic Lodge 144, Alamo OES Chapter 498, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Wallace LOW-12 Club, Cabalistic Club, Alamo 4 Conservation Club, Telephone Pioneers of America and WIC-200 Club. He attended Wallace High School. Born Sept. 13, 1914 near Waynetown, he was a son of Charles E. and ORintha Hamm McClure. He was married to Margaret A. Elmore of Alamo on Sept. 11, 1933. Survivors include the widow; five sons, James G. of Marion, Carl R. of the U.S. Air Force Base at Plattsburgh, N.Y., Alval of Riverside, Calif., Jack P. and Paul D ., both of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Glenn of Newtown, Robert of Florida and Harold of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Veda Miller of Lake Holiday; 10 grandchildren, four aunts and an uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. M. L. Holland officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Gardens near Lebanon. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday Masonic rites will be conducted by the Alamo Lodge at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. - jlr
