Mrs. Sarah Dee McClure, 85, of Newtown died Monday, June 29, 1970, at the Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where she was admitted Friday night. Born in Osceola, Mo., Jan. 30, 1885, she was the daughter of John and Laura Campbell Pugh. She was married in September of 1907 to Arch McClure. She came to Crawfordsville as a small child. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High and attended Indiana University. She taught school for two years. Mrs. McClure was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, Book Club, Quigle-Palin Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary and Bridge Club. Survivors include a son Clarence of Newtown; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, Herman Pugh of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Hatter of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Mrs. Edith Runkle of Bethesda, Mr., and Mrs. Christine Shumaker of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by herr husband in 1937, and a son, Dr. John McClure in 1968. Services Thursday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Peter Heemstra officiating. Burial in Newtown cemetery. - jlr
