McClelland - Daisy

On Sunday, May 4, 1873, of congestive chill, Daisy M., daughter of Dr. J. S. aged 8 years. There is no time when death comes without a shook Even when those whom we love are taken from us after a long and painful illness, we yearn for their presence, with that grief we can only feel when we mourn for the dead. How much more terrible is it then, when in seeming health and vigor, they are stricken down. Such was the death of little Daisy She drooped and faded like the gentle flower whose name she bore as peacefully and quietly as the falling of its petals, her life went out. She was beloved by all who knew her gifted with beauty of mind and person, and was one of the brightest of her Sunday school class. The eight short years she spent upon earth had not sullied the purity of her little soul. She gave great promise of future usefulness but God has seen fit that she should complete her unfinished work under the guidance of His love in that better land. She has been spared the pain and sorrow of those who mourn for her, and has been gathered to the arms of the compassionate Savior who said of his lambs, "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." - transcribed by Kim H - thanks, kiddo
