McClane - Moses
Source: Crawfordsville Daily Monday, 6 March 1893
Some six weeks ago Moses McClane, aged about 55 years, came here form Anderson and purchased the furniture store of Royse & Peavey, on South Washington Street. He had no family and lodged in the rear of his business room. About three weeks ago he was taken ill and grew worse until Thursday when his condition became alarming. Dr. Ensminger placed Jacob Metzger in charge as nurse but Mr. McClane grew worse until death relieved his intense suffering last night about nine o’clock. Charley Ramsey, who had been running his store, was the only person well acquainted with him and he knew but little of his family. It was ascertained that he had a daughter living in Indianapolis and a sister in Franklin. These have been telegraphed to and in the meantime the body lies in Voris’ undertaking establishment. The deceased owned property in Anderson besides his store and bank account here. - s
