Mary E. Jones was born in Union township, this county, on January 1, 1845, was married Lemuel B. McClamroch November 1, 1866, and died on Saturday. September 15, 1888. at 7:30 pm., after an illness of nearly two weeks of typhoid fever. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church when she was about 12 years of age and died an acceptable member of the church. The deceased was a highly respected lady in every respect. She was the mother o! three daughters: the youngest being nine years. Happy as she was in this world, with a beautiful home, surrounded by her beloved daughters, kind, affectionate husband and her many friends, she left them all to enter the Kingdom of God. where she will be far happier than she was here. She has gone to call her loved ones home where there will be no sorrows or partings. She remarked to her second daughter, Lizzie, at the beginning of her sickness that she felt she was nearly through with this world. During her last hours, although they were fought with great pain, she often smiled. She crossed the peaceful river of death and entered the presence of God with a smile on her face, where she is now at rest. The funeral services were held at the family residence on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and in spite of the rain the attendance was large. The services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Greene, of Crawfordsville. Interment at Oak Hill cemetery. - thanks so much to Kim H
