Frank M. McClain, son of Morgan and Mary Jane McClain, was born in Parke County, Indiana on May 3, 1864. He fought the losing battle with the grim reaper, death, at his home in Waveland, at 11 on Tuesday morning, August 20, 1940, his entire life having been spent in the vicinity of his birth. Frank had not been well for several years and only those who were with him and knew him well could know that he bore his sufferings and affliction with exemplary fortitude. On Sept 12, 1883, Frank was united in marriage to Lucinda McMains, who lives to survive and to long remember the love and devotion of a faithful husband. To this union was born one child who died in infancy. His religious faith has ever been associated with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Surviving to mourn his loss, besides his widow are 3 brothers: Jake, Gilbert and Alexander, all well known residents of this community, a number of nephews and nieces and host of friends. Funeral service at the home at 2:00 on Thursday. Talk by Cornelius Airhart. Pallbearers - nephews, Dale, Everett, Raymond, Lon, Neal McClain; and Paul McMains. Flower bearers - nieces - Mrs. Bert Perkins; Helen and Cozette McClain; Mrs. Roy Blaydes; Mrs. Pauline Matthewman, Mrs. Julius Grimes. Burial at Mt. Moriah. - transcribed by kbz
