McClain - Anna Clore

Mrs. Anna Clore McClain died at her home at midnight on Sunday night after a few hours illness. She was a sufferer from cardiac asthma. Funeral services at the home on Wednesday afternoon were in charge of Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson, reader of the Christian Church Scientist of Crawfordsville. Interment at Maple Ridge. Mrs. McClain was the third child of Simeon and Mary Lusk Clore. She was born on the old homestead, NW of town, July 8, 1859. She married William McClain, Sept 26, 1892. To them one daughter, Bessie was born. She is survived by the daughter, a step daughter, Mrs. Sam Milligan Jr; three brothers, Joel of Thayer, Mo; Doren and Marvin; and two sisters, Mrs. Sue York and Mrs. Mary Shirk. Some years ago she embraced the teachings of Christian Science and derived much comfort therefrom. She was a faithful wife; an affection mother and a good neighbor. Those present from a distance at the funeral were: Jasper McClain of Osborneville, Ill; Mr. & Mrs. Johnson Clore and son Lex; Mrs. JC Canine and Mrs. Lucy Springer of Crawfordsville; Mr. & Mrs. Harry Gentry of Indianapolis and Mr. & Mrs. Jesse York of Dana. - transcribed by kbz
