Albert V. McClain, 82, of Waynetown, died at 4:34 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2000, in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. Mr. McClain farmed in Richland Township, Fountain County, for 60 years and drove a school bus for Richland Township and Southeast Fountain School Corporation for 20 years. Born October 16, 1917, in Fountain County, he graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1935. He moved to Waynetown from Fountain County. He married Mary Jane Loughon March 15, 1942, in Sterling. Mr. McClain was a member of Waynetown Christian Church and a former member of Newtown Community Church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Jay McClain of Waynetown' a daughter, Jane Miller of Crawfordsville; a brother, Jacob S. McClain of Overland Park, Kansas; a sister, Mary Esther Messmore of Veedersburg; and 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild. Funeral service was at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2000 with the Rev. Ed Maurer officiating. Interment was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – jlr
