The many friends of Mrs. Frank McCalip were shocked Sunday to learn of her death, which occurred Sunday morning at 3:45 o’clock at the hospital of Dr. Dunnington in Indianapolis. Mrs. McCalip went to Indianapolis some days ago and on Saturday passed through a surgical operation as the best relief for her illness. The operation was performed successfully and so favorable seemed her symptoms that in the evening Dr. Dunnington felt secure in going to Attica. Soon after his departure, Mrs. McCalip began to grow worse and her husband telegraphed for Dr. Ristine, who arrived in Indianapolis a short time before death came. The body was returned to Crawfordsville Sunday afternoon. The funeral occurred Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Christian Church, Rev. S. H. Creighton officiating. The interment occurred at Oak Hill. Mrs. Ella McCalip was a daughter of Mrs. Jane Dillman, of South Green Street, and was born in Newburn, Ind., Oct. 6, 1860. During the eight years of her residence here, she had made very many friends and lived a Christian life of great beauty and usefulness. Besides her husband, she leaves four small children, Hazel, John, Curtis and Mabel. -s
