Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at Lafayette for Ross McCabe, 67, prominent Lafayette attorney who died suddenly Friday morning. His death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John K. Van Camp in Montmorenci. Mr. McCabe had been active in law practice at Lafayette for 33 years. When he was stricken, he was preparing to leave for his office in Lafayette. Born at Williamsport, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin F. McCabe. He was married in 1923 to Frances Shields of Birmingham, Ala. She preceded him in death in 1954. Mr. McCabe was a member of the class of 1913 at Wabash College where he belonged to the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. During World War I, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Before the war, he practiced law for a year at Williamsport with his father and his grandfather, James McCabe, who was a judge of the Indiana Supreme Court. After the war, he resided in Florida for a short time before beginning the practice of law in Lafayette in 1935. He was county attorney in 1934 and 1935. The survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Van Camp, Mrs. Keith Lynn of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Mrs. Richard Rein of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Ned McCabe of Williamsport, and four grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at the Soller-Baker Funeral Home in Lafayette at 2 p.m. Monday, with burial in the Rest Raven Memorial Park.
