HILLSBORO -- Mrs. Daisy McBroom, 88, of Hillsboro, died Monday in a nursing home at Wabash. Mrs. McBroom was born in Pine Village, in 1868, the daughter of W. W. and Jenny D. Fenton. She was married May 18, 1888, to Harvey McBroom of Hillsboro, who preceded her in death. Mrs. McBroom had been a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church for over 60 years, and is listed in the Indiana Federation of Music's Who's Who for serving 50 years in church music. She was an honorary member of the Hillsboro Harmony Club. Surviving are a son, Fred McBroom of Akron, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Crumley of Williamsburg; a brother, Aughe Fenton of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Methodist Church, Rev. John Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding services. Instead of floral tributes, the family has requested that money be donated to the Methodist Church Building Fund. --typed by Walt W
