McBride - Verniece Hershberger

Mrs. E. Verniece McBride, 72, of 610 W. Market St., died at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital after a long illness. She operated a grocery store on East Market Street in the 1930s, was employed at Allison Division of General Motors at Indianapolis during World War II, and recently was a practical nurse at Culver Hospital. Born July 18, 1898 in Veedersburg, she was a daughter of Mark and Mirtle Chizum Hershberger. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. On July 18, 1918 she married Walter B. McBride, who died in 1926. Mrs. McBride was a member of' Trinity United Methodist Church here and Order of Eastern Star at Veedersburg. Surviving are two sons, Walter D. McBride of Roachdale and Louis E. McBride of Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Louis M. Hershberger of Crawfordsville. An infant son, a brother and a sister are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul T. Jump officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery at Veedersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. --typed by Walt W
