Louis Eugene McBride, 56, of 305 E. Main St., a self-employed tax consultant and former employe of Internal Revenue Service, died early today in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He died from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig Disease. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and was honorary vice president of Indiana Tax Practitioners Association. He was a 1938 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a 1946 graduate of Indiana University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and saw action in the Pacific theatre. He was born at Veedersburg on Sept. 24, 1920, a son of Walter B. and Eva Verniece McBride. He was married to Mary I. Koons on Aug. 17, 1946, at Franklin. Surviving are his wife; a son, Larry Eugene of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Adursula) Hamilton Jr. of Crawfordsville; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Jump officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The family requests that memorials be made in the form of donations to the Indiana Chapters of National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Main, Crawfordsville, a former Veedersburg resident Mr. McBride, a self-employed tax consultant and former employee of the Internal Revenue Service, died Monday (Nov. 8, 1976) in Culver Hospital of amythrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig Disease. Services were at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev, Paul Jump officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville. Born Sept. 24, 1920, in Veedersburg, he was the son of Walter B. and Eva Verniece McBride. On Aug. 17, 1946, at Franklin, he married Mary I. Koons, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Larry Eugene of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Adursula) Hamilton Jr. of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren and several cousins in the Veedersburg-Covington area. The family has requested that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Indiana Chapters of National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.  -- jlr
