Ladoga - N. Ruth McAlister, 76, a patient at the Indiana Veteran's Home at Lafayette died at 10:45 pm. Tuesday in the home. She was a former employee of Culver Union Hospital and member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. McAlister was born Sept 7, 1908 at Ladoga, a daughter of William Ward and Effie Mae Duncan Johnson. She married Roland McAlister who preceded her in death in May 1963.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Nancy) Fleck of Wayne, Neb; Mrs. Jerry (Bertha) Maxwell, of Lantana, Fla and Mrs. JP (Anna) Morgan of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Gladys Hall of Crawfordsville; Zora VanScoyoc of Davis, Florida and Lena Calhoiun of Augusta, GA; 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death. Services are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. James Ranard officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. - kbz
