Mrs. Nannie A. McAlister, 83, died at 3 o'clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Rice in Mellott. Her death was attributed to complications resulting from a broken hip suffered in a fall Sept 26.

Born Oct 20 1864 in Tennessee, Mrs. McAlister was the daughter of Jackson and Mary Hayes Lyon. Her parents moved to Fountain County near Hillsboro when she was a small child.  The deceased was married Dec 21, 1884 to Frank W.  McAlister who died in 1930.

Mrs. McAlister was a member of the New Antioch Christian Church of Mellott.

Surviving in addition to the daughter with whom she made her home, are another daughter, Mrs. Charles Strong of Logansport; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Yount of Pomona, Kans; two brothers, William Lyon of Hillsboro and Oar Lyon of Beverly Hills, Calif; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services wer eheld Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Grenard & Servies Funeral Home, Waynetown.

Mellott, Nov 17 - Mrs. Nannie A. McAlister, 83 died at 3 a.m. today at the home here of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Rice.  She had been ill since Sept 26 when she broke a hit in a fall.  She had been a patient five weeks at Culver Memorial Hospital, Crawfordsville.  A native of Tennessee she came as a small child with her parents to Hillsboro. She was married Dec 21, 1881 to Frank W. McAlister who died in 1930. With another daughter, Mrs. Charles Strong of Logansport she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Margaret Yount, Pomona, Kans and two brothers, William Lyon of Hillsboro and Ora Lyon, Beverly Hills, Calif. - kbz
