Mrs. Minnie E. McAlister, 89, died Sunday at the home of her son-in-law, Floyd Simmons, 706 Liberty St., after a three-year illness. She was born April 18, 1874, in Fountain County, a daughter of Cary and Cynthia Bailey Cooper. She married John A. McAlister, who preceded her in death. Mrs. McAlister had been a resident of this city 43 years and was a member of the Christian Church at Mellott. Survivors include the son-in-law at whose home she died; a son, Roland S. of Crawfordsville; a brother, Charles M. Cooper of Mellott; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. after a three-year illness.
She was born April 18, 1874, in Fountain County, daughter of Cary and Cynthia Bailey Cooper. She married John A. McAlister, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Mellott Christian Church and had resided in Crawfordsville for the past 43 years.
Aside from the son-in-law, at whose home she died, she is survived by one son, Roland, of Crawfordsville; a brother, Charles M. Cooper, of Mellott; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral service was held at the Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. John R. Servies. - jz
