Mrs. Florence ALice McAlister, 55, wife of Roland McAlister, died Saturday morning at her home, 709 Liberty St. She had been in failing health several years and seriously ill five weeks. Born Jan 28, 1898 at Lisle, NY Mrs. McAlister was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Clark Stevens. She married Roland McAlister Dec 10, 1942. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Cortland, NY. Mrs. McAlister had lived in Crawfordsville since 1941. Previously she was a resident of Syracuse, NY. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Leslie R. Gay of this city, four stepchildren, Roland McAlister, Jr, Samuel McAlister and Barbara R. Gay all of Crawfordsville and Rebecca Debroski of Tokyo, Japan; a brother, Kenneth Stevens of this city; three grandchildren and five step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Claire Siple of the Trinity Methodist Church will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
