Last week a young man named James McAlilly, of Williamsport, was convicted of an assault with
an intent to kill and sentenced to six months imprisonment in the county jail.
Upon the prayer of his mother, a respectable widow, and the solemn promise of
the young man to reform, Judge Davidson suspended execution of the sentence and
he was set at liberty. On Saturday he went over to Attica with a son of Dr.
Tebbs, of Williamsport
