Egbert McClure, 77 years old, died Sunday night at 9:15 o'clock at his home, 610 Cherry street. He had been seriously ill for the past month and in failing health for several years.
He was an employee of the Mid States Steel and Wire company from 1890 until his retirement in 1935.
Mr. McClure was born in Vevay March 14, 1874, the son of George and Louise McClure. He married Lucretia Askin in Anderson on July 11, 1906.
He was a member of the baptist church.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Weohl, and Mrs. Juanita Hinton, and two sons, Robert E. and James McClure all of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Ida May Tutt, of Kankakee, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock (CDT) Wednesday afternoon at the Hunt and Son Funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery. Rev. George T. King of the First baptist church will officiate.

Funeral services for Egbert McClure were held Wednesday afternoon in the Hunt and Son Funeral home with Rev. George T. King in charge. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Raymond Woehl, Arthur Waldon, Raymond Rinker, Rex Manion, Bert Walton and Frank Woodson. Flowers were carried by Lola Jean Hinton, Judith Ann Hinton, Patsy Rose Hinton, Judith Ann Hinton, Pearl Paugh, Patty Rice, Patty McClure, Lois Gass, Patty Birchfield, Shirley Logston and Marnita Pickens.
"The Old Rugged Cross," "going Down the Valley" and "Goodnight and Good morning" were sung by Betty Griffin and Catherine Carroll accompanied on the organ by Mrs, Roy Trout. - thanks to Kim H for these two :)
