Ladoga -- Lyle "Yock" McClelland, 49, who was
engaged in the trucking business here for the last 20 years was fatally
stricken Thursday morning while driving his truck south on Sycamore
Street apparently toward the rear of an elevator. The vehicle veered off
the street and came to a stop on the Monon RR track. An approaching
train was halted while the truck was pushed off the track. Mr. McClellan
was a son of Guy and Blanche McClellan and was born Feb 19, 1921 in
Montgomery County. He was married Dec 31, 1946 to Jean Stewart in
Ladoga. he was a US Navy vet of WWII and member of Byron Cox Post 72 of
American Legion at Crawfordsville. He also was a member of the
Crawfordsville ELks Lodge and Ladoga Lodge 187, F&AM. Surviving are
his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Shelley Rhoads of Fowler; his mother of
Ladoga; two brothesr, Donald of Crawfordsville and Lawrence of Ladoga
and a sister, mrs. Ed Hatfield of Roachdale. His father and a bro ther
preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Gephart Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Chambers officiating and
burial in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4
p.m. today. - ww
