Maynard - Jonah

WINGATE - Jonah Wilburn Maynard, 64, employee on the Doan Marlatt farm, near here, died at his home at 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Death was unexpected. A native of Tennessee, Maynard moved to the Attica area 15 years ago and five years later to the Wingate community. In 1941 in Crossville, Tenn., he was married to Myrtle Adams, and was a member of the Baptist Church in Creston, Tenn. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Robbie Lee Maynard of Crossville, J. B. Maynard of West Lebanon; seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth Agee of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Sara Warner of Montezuma, Mrs. Sue Shoaf of Attica, Miss Barbara Maynard and Miss Zanelle Maynard of Detroit, Miss Debra Maynard at home and Mrs. Sharon Brown of Lafayette; a brother, Fate Maynard of West Point; a sister, Mrs. Liva Robbins of Livingston, Tenn., and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica, with Rev. George Phelps in charge. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Attica.
