Stowe F. Masterson, 70, of 1315 Tippecanoe Street, co-superintendent of the municipal parking grounds, died at 11:50 Saturday morning at the Home Hospital after a four months’ illness. A native of Montgomery County, where he was reared and schooled he came to Lafayette as a young man. On June 9, 1903, he married Lena Loveless of this city. For many years employed by the old Henry Taylor Lumber Company, he was later with the HM Bahls Hardware Store where he worked for 20 years. Ex-Mayor William N. Teal appointed him to the parking ground position which he retained under the Killian administration He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Lafayette Lodge 123, F&AM., Friendship Lodge 22 IOOF; Knight of Pythias No 51 and Pythian Sisters. The widow survives, together with two brothers, Charles W. and John E. Masterson, both of Lafayette. Funeral at 2 Monday afternoon at the Bradshaw Funeral Home, Dr. TF Williams officiating. Burial in Spring Vale. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 Monday. - kbz
