Waynetown April 15 – Mrs. Sarah M. Martin, 77 widow of Rollo Martin, a Civil War veteran, died at 8:45 o’clock last night at the home of her adopted daughter, Mrs. Truman Stockdale of Waynetown. She had been in declining health for three years, seriously ill the last 9 weeks. Born near here on Jan 2, 1857, she was the daughter of Erasmus and Esther (Ball) Williamson, marrying Rollo Martin on Sept 17, 1878. The couple first made their home at Crawfordsville later moving to this vicinity. Mrs. Martin had lived in Waynetown since 1902 and had been a member of the local Christian Church for 45 years. Besides Mrs. Stockdale she is survived by two sisters: Mrs. James Beam and Mrs. Nellie Harvey both of Waynetown; and one brother, Asa Williamson of Newcastle. Funeral services in charge of the Rev. Cecil Franklin will be conducted from the Waynetown Christian Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock with burial in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery. – kbz
